How Sim Coaching Works
The racing driver’s mental gym.
This is where you build the reps, the habits, the big picture focus, and the decision making skills you take into a real race weekend. We do not focus on virtual laptimes or brake markers, instead we dive into the “what and why” of high-level performance decision making and prioritization when in the car.
We all know it’s easy to get mentally lazy on the sim, my goal is to have every lap you do be a positive step forward to your next real life race weekend.
No AI. Direct 1:1 coaching.
Every session, lap and replay is reviewed by me personally. No AI tools and no automated reports.
Software can show you where you lost time. It cannot tell you why, or what to do about it when it counts. My coaching goes beyond the metrics into the decision-making and fundamentals of performing on a race weekend: how you build pace through practice, when to push and when to bank the result, how you handle traffic and pressure, and how you adapt when conditions change. All through the experience of decades of real-life professional competition.
1:1 Coaching
1:1 Session $175
Live, remote coaching on a private iRacing server, with me on track alongside you and talking you through it the whole time.
Before the session
Book through the form and tell me your car, series, next event and goals.
Send a few baseline laps (data or replay) so I can see where your time is going before we start.
I set up the track, car and conditions to match your real-world event and pick 2-3 focus areas.
During the session
Private iRacing server: just you and me, no traffic or distractions.
Discord voice: live comms the whole session. Working through any thoughts and keeping on task.
Structured Running: Qual sims, long run mindsets, GWC battles. We tackle the areas you need reps in for real life.
Full Data Breakdowns: using Pi Toolbox just like the real cars, we analyze the data for the correct techniques which will transfer to the real world.
After the session
A written summary of what we worked on and your 2-3 priorities.
Specific practice plans to run before the next session. Back to school, but this homework is fun :)
Your data is saved, so progress is measurable from session to session.
Data Review
Remote Data and Video Review $125
A deep dive into your telemetry and lap replays , reviewed by me personally and not by an algorithm to find exactly where the lap time is and “why,” without booking a live session.
Analyzed in Cosworth Pi Toolbox: The most powerful tool in motorsports data analysis, and the familiar one to the pro’s. Expect detailed and high fidelity analysis on your technique.
How it works
Send your laps: your iRacing telemetry files, plus a replay file of your laps.
I compare 1-3 of your laps against my reference lap in Pi Toolbox: braking points, brake release, minimum corner speed, throttle application and line.
You get a recorded video breakdown within 72 hours, walking through the data corner by corner.
Plus your top 3 time gains, ranked by how much time each one is worth.
Race Replay Review
Sprint Race $250
Pace is only half of racing. This review looks at the whole race: how you start, attack, defend and manage a stint.
What I look at
Starts and restarts: launch, positioning and the first lap
Racecraft: overtakes, defending, energy management and when to pick your battles
Consistency and tire management across a stint
Mistakes under pressure and how to recover from them
Traffic and multi-class management in endurance races
How it works
Send the iRacing replay file (or video) and telemetry, plus the session and car you want reviewed.
I watch the full race and data, then record a video breakdown with timestamps of the key moments within 72 hours.
